Answer each of the following in at least 100 words: IN YOUR OWN WORDS!
1. What was the significance of the creation of the Department of Defense and the CIA in the immediate postwar period? Why was the United States so focused on its national security? What impact do you think the creation of the DOD and the CIA had on American society?
2. Why was Jim Crow vulnerable in the 1950s when it had been resistant to change for so long? What were the advantages and the disadvantages of nonviolence as a tactic? What were the limits of what nonviolent resistance was able to accomplish?
3. Why is 1968 considered “the year of the student”? How did the occupation at Columbia University embody the sentiment of student radicalism? What aspect of this event was a catalyst for the women’s liberation movement?
4. How and why did the public’s view of the Vietnam War change over time? Had you been in college in the late 1960s, how do you think you might have viewed and responded to the war?
5. How did the mentality of the Nixon White House contribute to the break-in at the Watergate in June 1972? Should President Nixon have been impeached or faced criminal charges? What lessons – if any – does Watergate teach about the abuse of presidential power?

I also found relevant information about my topic from the following sources:

Here is some information you will need to be able to complete the assignment as this is an ongoing project that will lead up to my thesis paper later. The topic I have been researching is, “The Tulsa Massacre.”
The question I have asked is “What evidence supports the argument that the amount of injustice and human rights abuses perceived during the Tulsa riot race massacre might have been driven by white framing and black counter-framing?
The group I previously mentioned that participated in the Tulsa massacre was the veterans that offered to help and were turned down.
I chose to explore the Tulsa Massacre because I believe that society has the responsibility to mutually respect every individual regardless of their cultural, ethnic, or religious background. The assumption is that respecting every person’s human rights and maintaining equality should be the natural order of any proper functioning society. The most resounding value related to the topic is respect for the worth and dignity of every individual within society.
As a Primar Source, I chose “Tulsa Race Riot Of 1921 Testimony Given (199, August 10) Morning Edition, NA.
As a Secondary Source, I chose, “Interpreting Violence: The 1921 Tulsa Race Riot and its legacy, by K. D. Karatzas.
A current event I spoke about leading up to this assignment is the George Floyd event in 2020.
I also found relevant information about my topic from the following sources:
The Eruption of Tulsa. by W. White
Reporting a Massacre by K. K. Hill and R. Krehbiel
Systemic Racism. A Theory of Oppression by J. R. Feagan
Thank you

Tunisia and egypt experienced full-scale revolutions, civil war erupted in libya and syria, major uprisings occurred in bahrain and yemen, and significant protest movements emerged in algeria, iraq, jordan, morocco, oman, kuwait, lebanon, saudi arabia, sudan, israel, and palestine.

In 2010, a wave of revolutions, rebellions, and protests began spreading across the Arab world. Tunisia and Egypt experienced full-scale revolutions, civil war erupted in Libya and Syria, major uprisings occurred in Bahrain and Yemen, and significant protest movements emerged in Algeria, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Oman, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Israel, and Palestine. Events transpired distinctively from country to country, yet the movements shared some common characteristics. Buoyed by a new generation of impoverished and frustrated, yet energized youth, Arabs revolted against decades of authoritarian rule, corruption, and injustice. Arabs of various political, social, economic, and religious persuasions united to demand open government, legitimate elections, and a more equitable distribution of economic opportunity and wealth. Western media dubbed these events the Arab Spring, while those directly involved in the Arab liberation struggle commonly referred to it as thawra (revolution), intifada (uprising), nada (renaissance), or sahwa (awakening).
This discussion assignment calls for you to situate recent events in the Arab world in their historical context. After reading the material assigned for this week, choose one Middle Eastern or North African country – with a significant Arab population – that has experienced revolution, civil war, uprisings, rebellion, protests, renaissance, or awakening since 2010, and trace the history behind current events in that country to show how the past has shaped the present.
This assignment need be two page with both in paragraph with page and proper citation at the end. Also been asked for minimum of 4 resources.
Thanks

What does she accomplish by doing so?

For this assignment, you are asked to write about two chapters of Five-Finger Discount. Your job is to
show how they are related. At least one of the chapters should be from the second half of the book
(Chapters 11 through 20). So, no, you can’t write about the relationship of Chapter 1 and Chapter 2.
But you could write about the relationship of, say, Chapter 1 and Chapter 11.
The idea is to link the two chapters in a meaningful way by seeing the second of the two chapters as an
extension or resolution of a theme or issue or characterization that is introduced in the earlier one.
Your goal should be to write analytically about both chapters while sustaining an argument about their
connection.
Let me give you an example. In Chapter 10, “Bad Boy,” we are introduced to Helene’s distant cousin
George, the bad boy of the title. George is contrasted to another cousin Stephen, a good boy. Helene
admits to feeling a strange attraction to George’s “bad boy” qualities and wonders whether her
grandmother Pauline felt similarly attracted to her grandfather Beansie. Chapter 18, “Valentine’s Day,”
follows up on the earlier chapter by showing the fatal turn that George’s life has taken. George’s story
comes to Helene at a time when she has recently returned to New Jersey after having lived in Alaska.
We have to wonder why she is inserting this depressing story about her distant cousin’s life of crime at
this point of her book. What does she accomplish by doing so?
That’s only an example. You should find your own pairing of chapters to write about. You should also
feel free to run the pairing past me. The question I am sure to ask you: What will be your argument?
Establish what 2 chapters you will be writing on with me first, THANKS!
