How do you communicate about finances together so that you stay on the same page?

This project is designed to help students understand the perspectives of married couples who are in different stages of marriage.
For this project, students will conduct three interviews with married couples. (Please don’t interview your parents)
The first couple should be newly married (0-2 years).
Couple number two should have been married for 8-12 years.
The third couple should have been married for longer than 25 years.
You will ask each of the three couples the following interview questions (word for word).
What do you believe are the most important character traits to possess that help you create a successful marriage?
What did you not discuss before marriage that you wish you would have discussed?
What is it about marriage that has brought you the most joy?
What is your strategy to maintain unity, even when you are independent and busy people?
How do you communicate about finances together so that you stay on the same page?
How do you effectively address and resolve any conflict that arises in your marriage?
According to research, the best predictor of marital satisfaction is the degree to which you believe you have divided household responsibilities fairly between the two of you. What has that process (of communicating about distributing different household responsibilities) looked like for the two of you?
What advice do you have for college students who are not yet married?
You will ask all eight questions (word for word) in each of your three interviews. Take notes of their answers (you may ask for permission to record the interview if you think that might be helpful).
You will write a double-spaced paper (times new roman, 12-point font, 1-inch margins). Please include:
A cover page (name, class, the title of your paper, and heading that appears at the top of each page with page #’s)
Begin your paper (page #2) with a brief introduction (make your heading “Introduction”) to the three couples. Who are they? How do you know them? How long have they been married? Any other info that you think might be helpful as a brief introduction.
Make a heading for each of the 8 questions (make each question itself the headings).
For each of the questions/headings, give a summary of each of the three couple’s answers, as well as a half-page paragraph with your thoughts regarding the answers that the couples gave you (compare their answers, explain what you think is wise/unwise, how it relates to what you’re learning in class, etc.).
Your final heading will be “Conclusion.” In this section, write at least a half-page paragraph on what you learned from completing this project, how you personally benefited from doing the project, what you plan on applying in your life, and summary thoughts.

NOTES: Save your paper as a pdf and submit it properly through Canvas.
PROCRASTINATION WARNING: This is not the type of project that you can do quickly. Plan ahead and start early. Also, last-minute technical or other problems are common excuses received from students who failed to meet deadlines. It is the student’s responsibility to submit each project early enough to avoid problems or to have time to work through technical or other problems before the deadlines. Technical problems and other problems are only problems if the student procrastinates until it is too late to deal with their problems before the due date. Late submissions are not accepted in this course. It is recommended that all students submit each project/exam at least 3 days before the due dates.

What activities of advocacy will you carry out and who will be involved with you?

The policy paper will be divided into four sections. In Part 1 you will address what you consider a current social problem that impacts people negatively. Please be sure and narrow down your topic as to make it manageable. Instead of doing homelessness, you would be advised to narrow it down to something such as “Homeless Veterans in Urban Areas.” If you were covering inequities in the US criminal justice system you might narrow it down to “The mass incarceration of non-violent Black males ages 18—25.” As you address a current social problem, please demonstrate how it is a problem, who it impacts and why, and for how long. Please attach statistics and data which support that your problem is indeed a problem.
In Part 2 you will address current policy that impacts your topic, both positively and negatively. In highlighting policy on your topic, it would be good to delve into the history of the policy that seeks to address or that even exacerbates your social problem.
In Part 3 you will present an enhanced policy or propose some new policy to address the problem situation. In proposing your new policy be specific as to how the policy will address the issues in question. In Part 4 you will present an advocacy plan. Where will you start in your advocacy efforts? Who will speak with and network with to further your plan? What activities of advocacy will you carry out and who will be involved with you?
PART 1: Social Problem. 1 to 1.5 pages.
PART 2: Policy Pertaining. 1 to 1.5 pages.
PART 3: Policy Enhancement or Proposal. 1.5 to 2 pages.
PART 4: Policy Advocacy. 1 to 1.5 pages.
*Must have a total of at least 6 different sources. APA 7 student style required. Firemen called to the scene reported that silvia was sitting calmly in the driveway as they approached the scene.

Write an 10 – 12 page paper that addresses each of the following prompts. There are no citations required for this assignment. For this assignment, you are a social worker in the field and must “think on your feet” with each case that is assigned to you. Use what you know in response to the prompts. Answers must be detailed and should demonstrate critical thinking skills, attention to details, problem solving skills, knowledge of theory and the connection to practice, and understanding of the dynamics and issues that are involved specifically in working with older adults.
this is the instruction and there’s 5 questions
1 Analyze and discuss this case in detail. What is significant? What are you curious about? Consider and discuss ways in which culture, gender and ethnicity may be factors in this case.
2 Identify and prioritize the needs in this case. What will your first focus of attention be in this case and why?
3 Identify appropriate assessment tools to use in this case. Explain why these tools are relevant in your work with this specific client. Explain potential findings using these assessment tools and your course of action dependent on these findings.
4 Identify appropriate collateral professional(s) that you would collaborate with on this case. Why are these professionals important in this case and how would you collaborate with them?
5 Design a specific treatment plan with two specific goals for this client.
6 Describe two specific interventions you would utilize with this client. Your interventions should be aimed towards meeting the specific goals in #5.
The questions are based on the case study which add up the 10 pages needed
Silvia is a 75 year old woman who has been widowed for 7 years. She has been referred to your family service agency following a serious fire in her home. Firemen called to the scene reported that Silvia was sitting calmly in the driveway as they approached the scene. She told the first responders that she had been warming something in the microwave and it caught on fire. She was unable to contain the fire, which spread throughout her house and caused significant damage. She was taken to the ER to be evaluated and suffered no physical harm as a result of the fire.
Past History:
Silvia was married to her husband close to 50 years before he died. Five years before his death, her husband was diagnosed with cancer. Silvia was the primary caretaker for her husband during his illness. He ultimately died in the house. Silvia refused to part with any of his personal belongings after his death. Additionally, they had built that house when he retired and moved in shortly before he was diagnosed with cancer. She said she felt his presence in the house since they had planned and furnished that house together.
Silvia had a strong family history of diabetes. Shortly before her husband’s retirement, Silvia began taking oral medication for elevated glucose levels. She was told to be mindful of her diet by her doctor and did so until her husband became ill. By the time her husband died, Sylvia was now taking insulin injections as her sugar was now out of control and she had Type II diabetes.
Silvia and her husband lived in the New York metro area prior to his retirement. When they moved to Broward, they lived far from their three children and ten grandchildren. Only one child, their youngest daughter, visited frequently.
Silvia was dependent on her husband and deferred all decision making to him. Even when he was diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment, he still did all the driving and was in control of their finances. After his death, Silvia transferred all decision making to her eldest son. He took control of her bank account and Silvia trusted that he was making all decisions in her best interest.
Silvia’s children are estranged from each other. Conflict stems from a long history of family disagreements, most of these regarding money. Silvia’s daughter has reason to believe that her oldest brother has been syphoning off her mother’s money since her father’s death and has expressed this to Silvia. Silvia has been dismissive of her daughter’s concerns.
Silvia’s daughter has also been concerned about her mother living alone in the house following her father’s death. She worried about her mother’s capability of taking care of herself. Silvia has been non-compliant with her doctor’s instructions in her diabetic management. She has developed diabetic retinopathy and had to have four surgeries to correct the condition. Silvia’s daughter believes her mother’s eyesight is limited due to the diabetic retinopathy, and further believes this could have been what caused the fire in the house. Again, Silvia minimized these concerns. Additionally, when her daughter suggested she consider moving and offered several options, including independent living near her, assisted living, or moving in with her daughter, Silvia became angry, defiant and hostile, saying that she could never leave the house because that would be “leaving” her husband. Silvia’s daughter’s attempts to communicate her concerns to her eldest brother were ignored. Though he did not visit, he merely listened to his mother say she was doing “fine” and that “nothing needed to change.”
Current History:
It is now two weeks since the fire. Silvia has been staying with a neighbor following the fire. She has consented to be evaluated by the family service agency after her endocrinologist insisted that she make the appointment. Silvia feels this appointment is unnecessary. She only agrees to go since her doctor told her she would not continue seeing her as a patient unless she was evaluated. Silvia goes to the appointment with the premise that this will be the only time she will go.
Silvia has never been in therapy. She believes her life is her “business” and does not share anything that is “personal” with anyone, including her children. She strongly protects her “privacy”, and talks only on a surface level with all others, including her husband. When he died, and at other significant times in her life when she suffered emotional pain, she spoke to no one about her feelings. She believes in being stoic, in “putting on a face”. “It’s nobody’s business.”
Silvia believes the house will be “fixed”, though the repairs are significant, and that she will return to her life as it was before the fire.
